Find Your “Oasis”

Nobody can bring you peace but yourself.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Find Your “Sanctuary”

Everyone needs a  “place of  peace” where they can be quiet and serene. This special place will serve as your oasis in a world of stress. It will be a spot where you can take a break from the daily activities that demand your time and energy. Your sanctuary does not need to be fancy. An unused bedroom or a corner of an apartment or even a wooden bench in your favourite park can serve as your place of peace.

Things To Do in Oasis

When you feel you need some time alone, visit this oasis and do anything that makes you happy. Write in your diary or listen to soothing music. Take a stroll, read a book or simply do nothing for thirty minutes and let your energy renew. Carving out a little time for yourself is not a selfish act rather it keeps your mind and spirit balanced, enthusiastic and youthful.

Simple Acts of Self-Care

Here are some ways to carve out that essential time you need to slow down, enjoy life, and rejuvenate your mental and physical health.

1.Alone Time With Yourself

Try to save certain weeknights just for you. If others ask you to do things those nights, just tell them you have plans. Use the time for gardening, reading, exercise, thinking, or the ultimate luxury of doing nothing

2. Exercise

For busy people, it can be difficult to make time for this, but it’s important to do so in this sedentary lifestyle. You can walk for 20 minutes in the morning, and then build on that success daily.

3. Take Time For An Old Hobby

Painting, cooking, exercise, listening to music, dancing-there are dozens of ways to sneak some time for you into your day.

Remember, as the saying goes,

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first

And as Suzy Kassem said: APPLY WITHIN

You once told me
You wanted to find
Yourself in the world -
And I told you to
First, apply within,
To discover the world
within you.
You once told me
You wanted to save
The world from all its wars -
And I told you to
First, save yourself
From the world,
And all the wars
You put yourself
Through.
