“The tree that has the most fruits is the tree that bends to the ground”.
Proverb
One of the qualities I respect most in people is humility.
Though there are some exceptions, I have found in my own experience that it is true – the person who knows the most, who have achieved the most and who have lived the most are also the people closest to the ground. They are humble.

There is something special about being in the presence of a humble person. Practising modesty shows that you respect others and reminds us that life is a constant process of learning.
Benefits of Humility
The following are some of the benefits of being down to earth:
1. To Build Better Relationships

One of the clearest benefits of being more humble is that you will be more amiable. Not many people want to be friends with those who are arrogant. Humility not only opens the door to more relationships but healthier ones too.

2. Humility Gives Opportunity to Grow

Humility makes you realize that as an individual, you still have a lot of room for growth. That there is still much to learn and it keeps you open to those possibilities. People who lack humility thinks they already know everything and this arrogance sometimes leads them to fail.
3. Humility At The Workplace

When it comes to the workplace, honesty and humility are two of the key traits that virtually every hiring manager will look out for, and this is backed up by a survey that found that they’re an effective indicator of overall performance. Better still, if humble employees rise the ranks and find themselves in a managerial position, they’ll be naturally more effective at the job they do.
Is Humility an Under-rated Virtue?

Humility is perhaps an under-rated virtue these days, “It’s a dog-eat-dog world, you know!”. However, just because it is old-fashioned does not mean that it is no longer important. According to my, humility is not being a ‘doormat’ and allowing people to walk all over you. Rather, it is an understanding that every human is equally worthy.
“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, It’s thinking of yourself less.”
C.S Lewis

Nicely written! I agree with your thoughts. I try to follow this concept in my life – being more close to ground gives us the chance to see life from different angle and to have a peaceful mind as well.
